eternal-poison-ps2-1
Eternal Poison - PS2

Eternal Poison for the PlayStation 2 is a gothic dark fantasy tactical RPG developed by Flight-Plan, the studio behind the Summon Night series, and published by Atlus. The demon realm of Besek has suddenly materialized in the kingdom of Valdia, home to creatures called Majin who have kidnapped the kingdom's princess. Several groups enter Besek independently, each pursuing their own agenda. Players begin by choosing one of three protagonists: Olifen, a knight searching for the kidnapped princess; Ashley, a priestess looking for her missing mentor; or Thage, a silver-haired young witch and the game's most morally ambiguous lead, whose motivations remain opaque and whose true goals are far darker than they initially appear.

The tactical battles take place on isometric grids with one move and one action per turn per unit, but Eternal Poison distinguishes itself through its Majin capture system. Rather than simply defeating enemies, players can weaken Majin to a critical threshold and then bind them, adding them to the party roster as recruitable fighters with their own skills and combat abilities. Capturing enough varieties of each of the game's 55 Majin species is required to unlock the fifth and final story path. Each playthrough takes 15 to 20 hours, and the full picture of the story only emerges across multiple runs with different protagonists, each of whom experiences different events and reveals different facets of the conspiracy surrounding Besek.

The North American release shipped as a two-disc set including a soundtrack CD with selected tracks from the game. (cite index="81-1">It is notable as a modern Atlus game that does not include the original Japanese voice acting, a rarity for the publisher at the time, due to space constraints on the disc. Developed by Flight-Plan and published by Atlus in North America on November 11, 2008. It was one of Atlus's final major PS2 releases in North America and Flight-Plan's only strategy RPG to receive a Western localization.

Japanese Title: ポイズンピンク (Poison Pink)
Language: English text / English voice
Rating: T (Teen)
Platform: PlayStation 2
Genre: Tactical RPG
Players: 1 player
Developer: Flight-Plan
Publisher: Atlus
Release Year: 2008 (North American release: November 11, 2008)

Includes game disc and bonus soundtrack CD.

Only multiple item orders that combine to $120 or more get free shipping.
