Battle Girl High School! - Blu-ray

The year is 2045. Mysterious entities called the Irousu have invaded Earth, blocking out the sun with a barrier called the Kekkai and overrunning large portions of the planet. Conventional military force is ineffective against them. The solution that has emerged is the Hoshimori — Star Guardians — teenage girls who draw power from a sacred tree and transform to fight the Irousu. Shinjugamine Girls Academy is one of the schools that trains them. Miki Hoshitsuki is a freshman Star Guardian, earnest and determined, navigating the particular challenge of alternating between regular high school life — exams, club activities, cultural festivals, summer vacation — and combat duty against an alien occupation. Her fellow Hoshimori have their own distinct personalities and their own reasons for fighting. When a mysterious new recruit arrives with abilities that don't match the standard Hoshimori profile, the stakes begin to shift toward something considerably larger than routine patrol operations.

Battle Girl High School is a 12-episode science fantasy series produced by Silver Link — the studio behind Chaos;Child, Chivalry of a Failed Knight, and Non Non Biyori — directed by Noriaki Akitaya, whose credits include Bakuman and Active Raid, with series composition by Yōsuke Kuroda and music by kz (livetune, known for Hatsune Miku's "Tell Your World"). The series was produced to celebrate the second anniversary of COLOPL's Battle Girl High School smartphone RPG, which launched in April 2015, and aired on Tokyo MX and BS11 from July 2 to September 17, 2017. Sentai Filmworks simulcast the series on HIDIVE during its Japanese broadcast and released the Complete Collection Blu-ray on July 24, 2018, featuring both English dub and Japanese audio with English subtitles.
