Conan Edogawa continues his double life as the teenage detective Jimmy Kudo trapped in a child's body, solving case after case under Richard Moore's unwitting nose while searching for clues about the Black Organization that poisoned him. Season Four contains some of the franchise's most celebrated standalone mystery episodes alongside ongoing character development for Rachel, the Detective Boys, and the supporting cast. New recurring character Harley Hartwell — the rival high school detective from Osaka — makes significant appearances across the season.

The fourth season of Case Closed was directed by Kenji Kodama and covers episodes 86–106 in Japanese numbering, running from December 1, 1997 to June 22, 1998.
