Comic Party Revolution - DVD

Kazuki and Mizuki are now in college, and the doujinshi world has moved on around them. Characters absent from the original series — including Subaru Mikage and Asahi Sakurai — make their debut, and the focus shifts from Kazuki alone to the full ensemble, with each heroine given spotlight episodes. The hot springs trip, the tennis tournament, the camping disaster, and the ongoing challenge of balancing real adult life with the consuming passion of doujinshi creation give the series its episodic structure — lighter in tone than the first season, more interested in the full cast than in Kazuki's personal journey, and steadily building toward the question of whether making doujinshi can survive growing up.

Comic Party Revolution is the 13-episode sequel to Comic Party, with the first four episodes originally released as OVAs between December 22, 2003 and November 26, 2004, before the series was extended and broadcast as a TV series from May 2 to June 27, 2005. Episodes 1–4 were directed by Junichi Sakata and produced by Chaos Project; episodes 5–13 were directed by Mitsuhiro Tōgō and produced by Radix Ace Entertainment — the studio behind Sakura Wars OVA and Birdy the Mighty — with music by Yoshihiro Ike (Kai Doh Maru, Arc the Lad) for the TV episodes. ADV Films licensed the anime and dubbed it with a new Houston-based voice cast, releasing the series on DVD between 2006 and 2007. The ADV individual volumes include Seiyuu Profiles, Production Background Art, Japanese voice cast interviews, "The Language of Doujinshi," "What is Comic Party," and "How to Doujinshi" featurettes not present on later releases.
