In Dance in the Vampire Bund, Mina Tepeș, the ancient and enigmatic queen of all vampires, reveals the existence of her kind to a stunned world by paying off Japan's national debt in exchange for the right to build a sovereign sanctuary off the coast of Tokyo. This "Vampire Bund" is meant to be a haven, but it quickly becomes a lightning rod for human fear and vampire political intrigue. Caught in the center is Akira Kaburagi Regendorf, a young man who discovers his suppressed memories as a werewolf sworn to protect Mina. As the world teeters on the edge of a racial war between the living and the undead, Akira and Mina must navigate a labyrinth of assassination attempts, ancient prophecies, and the crushing weight of their own destiny to secure a future where both species can coexist.
