In Deception IV: Blood Ties, the player assumes the role of Laegrinna, a fragment of the Devil's soul and his daughter, who is sent to the human realm to resurrect her imprisoned father. Her mission is to defeat the descendants of the twelve Saints, the warriors who sealed her father away 3,000 years ago, and retrieve the scattered pieces of the Holy Verses used in the binding incantation. Aided by three daemons representing different aspects of cruelty—Elaborate Death, Sadistic Torment, and Humiliating Demise—Laegrinna cannot directly attack her foes; instead, she must cunningly lure human victims into elaborate, Rube Goldberg-style sequences of strategically placed traps within her castle to collect their souls and break the seal.
