Akuto Sai has spent his entire life in a church orphanage working toward a single goal: to become a high priest and use magic to benefit society. On his first day at the prestigious Constant Magic Academy, the school's oracle — which predicts students' futures — delivers an unexpected verdict: Future Occupation: Demon King. The entire student body immediately regards him with terror and suspicion. His new roommate Junko, a ninja from a prestigious clan who had been prepared to befriend him, shifts to cold hostility and an ongoing mandate to monitor and if necessary eliminate him. An android named Korone is assigned to live in his closet and observe his every move. The class representative Fujiko has her own agenda involving his power. The white-haired transfer student Keena is almost always invisible — sometimes literally — and is inexplicably devoted to him while being constitutionally unable to take anything seriously. Akuto insists he has no intention of becoming a Demon King. His power keeps escalating. The world keeps responding accordingly.

Demon King Daimao is a 12-episode action comedy produced by Artland — the studio behind Macross, and Mushi-shi. It aired on Tokyo MX and other channels from April to June 2010 — uncensored only on AT-X; all other broadcast versions were heavily censored. The home video release is completely uncensored and differs significantly from most broadcast versions.
