In Devil Summoner: Raidou Kuzunoha vs. the Soulless Army, set in an alternate 1931 Japan, you play as Raidou Kuzunoha the 14th, a high school student and devil summoner who works as a detective's apprentice. The story begins when a young girl named Kaya Daidouji arrives at the detective agency asking them to kill her, only to be promptly kidnapped by mysterious, red-armored soldiers. As Raidou investigates her disappearance and the strange supernatural occurrences plaguing the capital city, he uncovers a vast conspiracy involving a "Soulless Army" project, the enigmatic dark summoner Rasputin, and a dark secret within the Daidouji family, all while navigating between the human world and a demonic "Dark Realm". Ultimately, Raidou must use his skills of demon negotiation, capture, and fusion to protect the capital and unravel the mystery before dark forces consume the city.
