Harumi Kazuhito is a high school student with a singular, life-consuming passion: he lives to read books. He’s such a dedicated bibliophile that he’d literally die for a good story—and unfortunately, that’s exactly what happens. While trying to protect a stranger in a coffee shop from a gunman, Harumi is killed. However, his unyielding desire to finish his favorite author's latest unreleased novel is so strong that he is reincarnated. The catch? He’s now a long-haired dachshund.

Trapped in a pet shop and unable to read a single page, Harumi’s prayers are answered by Kirihime Natsuno, a beautiful but sharp-tongued woman who can actually hear his thoughts. As it turns out, she is none other than Shinobu Akiyama—Harumi’s favorite author. But his dream of living with his literary idol quickly turns into a comedic nightmare when he realizes she is a sadistic novelist who expresses her "affection" (and writer's block) by brandishing a pair of lethal scissors.

Dog & Scissors (Inu to Hasami wa Tsukaiyoushi) is an absurdist, high-energy supernatural comedy that bites. From eccentric rival authors to bizarre combat encounters involving stationery, this series is a surreal celebration of the literary world, obsessive fandom, and the unbreakable (and often painful) bond between a writer and her most loyal—and furry—reader.
