Goku Black has appeared in Future Trunks's timeline — a figure who looks exactly like Goku but fights with killing intent and a dark ki that Future Trunks cannot overcome alone. Future Trunks travels to the present in a barely functional time machine to warn Goku and Vegeta, carrying a story that sets up one of Dragon Ball Super's most complex and divisive arcs. As Goku, Vegeta, and Future Trunks make trips between timelines, the identity of Goku Black is revealed — and the introduction of Zamasu, the Supreme Kai apprentice whose contempt for mortals has curdled into something catastrophically dangerous, gives the arc its core philosophical conflict. Part Four also includes the conclusion of the Universe 6 Tournament and the introduction of Goku's new form: Super Saiyan Blue Kaio-ken.
