Long before Inuyasha was born, his father Toga - the Great Dog Demon - fought a desperate war against the legendary Four War Gods on the mystical Horai Island. Fifty years ago, Inuyasha himself ventured to the island, only to be branded with a scar of torment by the island's rulers. Now, the island has reappeared from the mystical fog, and a young half-demon child named Ai escapes to seek help. Driven by destiny and a shared burden, Inuyasha and his companions must journey to the island to free the remaining half-demon children from being sacrificed to the island's eternal cauldron. Facing the ruthless power of Ryura, Kyura, Jura, and Gora, Inuyasha and Sesshomaru find themselves pulled into an explosive battle to break a 50-year-old curse and destroy the dark legacy of the Four War Gods.

Inuyasha the Movie 4: Fire on the Mystic Island is the fourth and final theatrical film in the original Inuyasha series, directed by Toshiya Shinohara, written by Katsuyuki Sumisawa, and produced by Sunrise. It was released in Japanese theaters on December 23, 2004. The cinematic score was composed by Kaoru Wada, capping off his monumental symphonic contribution to the franchise, while the chart-topping theme song "Rakuen" was performed by the legendary J-pop group Do As Infinity. The film serves as the final cinematic swan song for the series, praised for its epic group battles, deep lore exploration into the history of the half-demons, and stunning animation production. The Ocean Productions English dub cast reprises their roles from the television series. Viz Media released the film on DVD in North America on August 1, 2006, rated PG.
