Somewhere in Time is the sixth studio album by Iron Maiden, marking the band's first use of guitar synthesizers, adding a sleek, sci-fi edge to their sound without losing the twin-guitar attack that defined them. The album spawned the singles "Wasted Years" and "Stranger in a Strange Land," and closes with the sprawling "Alexander the Great," a nearly nine-minute epic tracing the life of the Macedonian conqueror.
The 2024 reissue on Parlophone emastered in 2015 at Bernie Grundman Mastering and lacquer cut by Chris Bellman, pressed on 180g black vinyl by Optimal Media in Germany. It comes in a single outer sleeve with a printed inner sleeve, artwork by Derek Riggs depicting a cyborg-enhanced Eddie in a Blade Runner-inspired cityscape.
