Kentaro Miura - Berserk Manga

Guts, a battle-hardened mercenary with a tragic past, wanders a brutal medieval world soaked in blood, betrayal, and corruption. Haunted by loss and driven by rage, Guts begins a long, unforgiving journey of survival, revenge, and struggle against fate, encountering witches, apostles, apostles, corrupt clergy, and cosmic forces that transcend humanity.

Berserk blends dark medieval fantasy, psychological tragedy, visceral action, and philosophical depth, becoming one of the most influential seinen manga ever created.

Miura began developing Berserk in high school, inspired by European medieval history, dark fantasy literature, and his desire to create a mythic world shaped by trauma, ambition, and the struggle against fate.

After Miura’s passing in 2021, his close friend and fellow author Kouji Mori—one of the few people Miura confided the complete story to—collaborated with Studio Gaga (Miura’s assistants) to continue the manga according to Miura’s outlined plans.
