Legend of Crystania: The Chaos Ring - DVD

Three hundred years after the events of the theatrical film, Crystania has known peace — until nightmares begin returning. Lady Sheru dreams of her past life as Pirotesse with increasing frequency and distress. The seals protecting Crystania are breaking. Barbas, the malevolent god-king imprisoned after his defeat, has possessed the body of Beld of Marmo — Ashram's former king — and is working from within to reclaim his power. Tornados, basilisks, and Dragon Lords devastate the land as the Bell of Wakening signals one catastrophe after another. Ashram remains trapped in the World of Chaos. Redon, Sheru, and their companions must find a way to free him before Barbas completes his return — and the gods of Crystania fall.

Legend of Crystania: The Chaos Ring is a three-episode OVA sequel to the 1995 theatrical film, directed once again by Ryūtarō Nakamura, written by Akinori Endo, produced by Triangle Staff with additional production support from Field Y, Studio Setsujo, and MediaWorks, and scored by Michiru Oshima and Toshihiko Sahashi. It was released in Japan from November 21, 1996 to April 3, 1997 on VHS and LaserDisc. Released in North America on VHS by ADV Films on November 11, 1998 and on DVD on March 19, 2002, rated 12+. The Essential Anime Collection single-disc DVD edition was released February 15, 2005. A Complete Collection 2-disc box set combining both the film and Chaos Ring was released June 17, 2008.
