Little Witch Nobeta - Nintendo Switch

Little Witch Nobeta for the Nintendo Switch is a challenging 3D action shooter developed by Pupuya Games, drawing clear inspiration from the Soulsborne genre while wrapping it in an endearing chibi anime aesthetic. The little witch Nobeta arrives at an ancient, fog-shrouded castle seeking answers about her own origins — where she came from, and why she has no memories of her past. After encountering a mysterious black cat who becomes her guide, Nobeta ventures deeper into the castle's crumbling halls, where animated dolls called Crafted Souls — souls of the departed bound to puppet bodies — lurk around every corner and guard the castle's darkest secrets.

Combat is built around four elemental magic types — fire, ice, lightning, and dark — each with distinct properties that interact differently with enemies and environmental puzzles. Mastering each spell type is essential, as different Crafted Souls have different resistances and weaknesses, and boss encounters demand precise pattern recognition and resource management. Soul Essences dropped by defeated enemies are used to strengthen Nobeta's magical abilities and unlock new upgrades, in classic souls-like fashion. Puzzles woven throughout the castle require clever use of elemental spells to progress, and hidden treasures reward thorough exploration. Voice acting is fully in Japanese with English, French, and Spanish text options.

Originally released in Early Access on PC in 2021 before its full launch, Little Witch Nobeta came to Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 on March 7, 2023, published by Idea Factory International and Reef Entertainment.
