An Insatiable High is the third studio album by Japanese jazz fusion guitarist Masayoshi Takanaka, originally released in 1977 on Kitty Records. Recorded at Larrabee Sound Studios in North Hollywood, the album is a high point of Takanaka's LA sessions era, featuring heavyweight American players including Harvey Mason, Chuck Rainey, Lee Ritenour, and members of Tower of Power on horns, plus vocal work from session singer Jim Gilstrap.
There is a 2024 remastered reissue on 180g clear yellow vinyl, cut from the original master tapes by Alex Wharton at Abbey Road Studios, London. Catalog number UPJY-9435, released on Universal Music Japan. The reissue is a faithful replica pressing — housed in a single jacket with an obi strip and credits insert — and part of a coordinated series of Takanaka color-vinyl reissues (alongside Seychelles, Takanaka, and Super Takanaka Live!) released the same year.
