In the fantastical land of Gensokyo—a world sealed away from modern civilization—mystical creatures, humans, and gods coexist under a fragile balance. Among them is Kosuzu Motoori, a cheerful book-loving girl who works at Suzunaan, a small rental shop specializing in rare and antique texts.
But Kosuzu has a secret obsession: she collects youma books, magical tomes imbued with dangerous forbidden powers. Though she cannot read the cryptic scripts, her curiosity pulls her deeper into mysteries she is not prepared to face.
When rumors of strange incidents begin circling around the village, shrine maiden Reimu Hakurei and magician Marisa Kirisame notice that Kosuzu’s expanding collection of forbidden literature may be linked to supernatural disturbances. As more unsettling events unfold, the three women find themselves caught between harmless curiosity and the disturbing truths sealed within the scrolls.
