Given follows Ritsuka Uenoyama, a talented but bored high school guitarist who finds his passion for music reignited after a chance encounter with Mafuyu Sato, a quiet classmate clutching a guitar with broken strings. As Ritsuka reluctantly teaches Mafuyu how to play, he discovers the boy possesses a hauntingly powerful singing voice and invites him to join his amateur rock band. However, Mafuyu is secretly burdened by the heavy grief of a past tragedy—the suicide of his childhood friend and former boyfriend, Yuki—and the very guitar he carries is a painful reminder of that loss. The narrative explores how the four band members navigate complex emotional wounds and evolving romantic tensions, eventually using their debut live performance as a cathartic outlet to transform their shared pain into a message of healing and self-expression
