Neon Genesis Evangelion: Ayanami Raising Project with Asuka Supplement Project - PS2

Neon Genesis Evangelion: Ayanami Raising Project with Asuka Supplement Project for the PlayStation 2 is an official life simulation game developed by Gainax and Broccoli, inspired by the Princess Maker series — also developed by Gainax. Players take the role of a newly assigned NERV lieutenant who is handed an unusual responsibility by Commander Gendo Ikari: take care of Rei Ayanami. Over the course of approximately one in-game year, players manage Rei's weekly schedule — balancing her education, pilot duties at NERV, and personal leisure time — while the events of the entire Evangelion anime series and The End of Evangelion movie play out around them.

Weekly schedule management is the core loop: each week players allocate Rei's time across categories that develop different stats — academic performance, Eva piloting skill, social development, and physical fitness — and the balance shapes who Rei becomes by the end of the year. Cutscenes featuring the full cast play out as story milestones are reached, and the relationship between the lieutenant and Rei evolves based on the choices made. The PS2 version's major addition over the original PC release is an unlockable Asuka Route — triggered by reaching certain scenes in the main game — in which the player becomes Asuka Langley Sohryu's guardian instead of Rei's, with a completely different set of interactions, personality dynamics, and story scenes.

Originally released for Windows PC in 2001 as Ayanami Raising Project, the PS2 version launched in Japan on December 11, 2003, and was later ported to Nintendo DS in 2008. The game was never released or localized outside Japan. This is a Japan-import disc requiring a Japanese PlayStation 2 or a region-free modded unit. All text and dialogue are in Japanese.
