Junpei Kosaka is a high school student with a serious problem: he is deathly allergic to cats. Unfortunately for him, his life is about to become a feline-filled nightmare. After accidentally breaking a statue of a cat deity, Junpei is cursed with the ability to understand and communicate with cats. But this isn't a gift—it's a death sentence. To break the curse, he must perform 100 favors for cats in need. If he fails, he will eventually be transformed into a cat himself, which, given his allergy, means certain doom.

As if managing his sneezing fits and the demands of every neighborhood stray wasn't enough, Junpei must also navigate the complicated social waters of high school. He is head-over-heels for Kaede Mizuno, a girl who—naturally—absolutely adores cats. From helping a local boss cat maintain his territory to dealing with a literal "cat-girl" obsessed twin sister duo, Junpei’s quest for a cure is a frantic, fur-covered race against time.

Nyan Koi! is a high-energy romantic comedy that balances slapstick humor with genuine heart. It is a charming story about a boy who hates cats being forced to save them, proving that sometimes the things we are most allergic to are the things that bring us the most luck.
