In Märchen Maze for the PC Engine, the player controls a young girl named Alice, who is spirited away into a magical "Mirror Country" after falling asleep reading a fairy tale. Guided by a helpful rabbit who informs her that the realm and eight other fantastical lands have been taken over by an evil witch called the Queen of Darkness, Alice is tasked with the unique challenge of restoring peace. Armed with a magic straw that allows her to blow bubbles to attack bizarre enemies like walking chess pieces, playing card soldiers, and penguins, the player guides Alice through a series of top-down perspective, platform-based levels. The goal is to survive environmental hazards and enemy attacks, defeat a boss at the end of each stage, and ultimately confront and vanquish the Queen of Darkness to save the mirror world.

Cassette tapes & CD's are shipped in bubble mailers.
Hats, toys, and figures are shipped in boxes.
