Released in 2000, The Powerpuff Girls: Bad Mojo Jojo is a 2D side-scrolling platformer for the Game Boy Color and the first entry in a trilogy of linked titles based on the popular animated series. Players take control of Blossom, the team leader, as she navigates various levels of Townsville to recover stolen items and thwart Mojo Jojo's plan to destroy the city with super weapons. While Blossom can fly for short periods and use unique powers like her ice beam, the game is known for its challenging mechanics, such as immediate life loss upon touching water and resetting all collected items when a life is lost. A unique feature of the trilogy is the ability to trade electronic character cards between this game and its sister versions—Paint the Townsville Green and Battle HIM—via the Game Boy Color Link Cable.
