Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game — Complete Edition for the Nintendo Switch is the beloved 2010 beat-'em-up finally restored and available once again — fully remastered and including both original DLC packs. Scott Pilgrim, a slacker living in Toronto, falls for the mysterious Ramona Flowers — but to date her, he must defeat the League of Seven Evil Exes in increasingly absurd and spectacular battles. Cocky movie stars, psychic vegans, and lesbian ninja twins all stand in the way.
The gameplay is a love letter to classic arcade beat-'em-ups in the tradition of River City Ransom and Streets of Rage — punching, kicking, weapons, combos, and co-op chaos for up to four players locally or online. Characters level up, learn new moves, and can summon powerful allies. A world map stage selection in the style of Super Mario Bros. 3 connects the game's chapters, and a Dodgeball minigame and boss rush mode add extra replay value beyond the main story.
The Complete Edition includes the base game plus the Knives Chau and Wallace Wells DLC packs, bringing the full playable roster to Scott, Ramona, Stephen Stills, Kim Pine, Knives, and Wallace. The soundtrack by Anamanaguchi — chiptune legends — is one of the most celebrated in the genre.
Originally released in 2010 and then delisted for years due to licensing issues, the Complete Edition returned in January 2021. Released physically for Switch in 2021 by Ubisoft. Nintendo Life called it "a great beat-'em-up for your Switch" with "bombastic presentation and crunchy combat."
