Senran Kagura: Ninja Flash - Blu-ray

Asuka and her four friends at Hanzo Academy look like ordinary high school girls. They are not. Hanzo Academy houses a secret ninja program training young women in the martial arts of the shinobi — and Asuka, granddaughter of the legendary Master Hanzo himself, is one of its students alongside the composed Ikaruga, the aggressively physical Katsuragi, the eyepatch-wearing Yagyuu, and the timid Hibari. Their training is interrupted when a rival group of ninja from Hiritsu Hebi Girls Academy — Homura, Hikage, Mirai, Haruka, and Yomi — steal the Hanzo Academy's secret ninja scroll. The confrontation that follows escalates from individual skirmishes into an all-out conflict between the two schools and their opposing ninja philosophies, with the Hanzo girls discovering their potential through battle. Clothing damage is extensive and narrative.

Senran Kagura: Ninja Flash! is a 12-episode action series produced by Artland — the studio behind Macross, Mushi-shi, and Demon King Daimao — directed by Takashi Watanabe (Slayers Seasons 1–3), and based on Kenichiro Takaki's Senran Kagura video game series developed by Tamsoft for the Nintendo 3DS.

The FUNimation North American Blu-ray release does not include the six Senran Kagura Specials bonus episodes released with the Japanese home video volumes.
