Senran Kagura: Reflexions - Nintendo Switch

Senran Kagura: Reflexions for the Nintendo Switch is a romance adventure and intimate simulation spin-off from the mainline Senran Kagura action series, developed by Marvelous Entertainment and Honey Parade Games. Known in Japan as Shinobi Refle: Senran Kagura, the game strips away the series' signature beat-'em-up combat entirely and replaces it with something far more personal: one-on-one time with a beloved Senran Kagura character in a quiet after-school classroom setting.

The base game features series image girl Asuka, who has called you to an empty classroom as the sun sets and seems troubled by something she can't quite put into words. Through reflexology sessions and a series of branching daydream scenarios — in which Asuka takes on different roles and personalities, from an energetic admirer to an experienced warrior to a shy classmate — players gradually piece together the fragments of her heart and deepen their connection with her.

Gameplay is built around the Nintendo Switch's HD Rumble feature, which the game uses to simulate tactile feedback during hand and body massage sessions. Using the Joy-Con controllers in detached mode — the game's recommended configuration — players apply pressure to find tension points on Asuka's hands, then progress to fuller massage sequences and special scenarios triggered by doing well. Between massage segments, players explore Asuka's various daydream "what if" scenarios, each presenting her in a different light with unique costumes, settings, and personality dynamics. A Dress Up mode lets players customize Asuka's outfit, and a Diorama photo mode lets players pose her in various scenes for screenshots. DLC packs add four additional playable Senran Kagura characters — Yumi, Murasaki, Ryouna, and Yomi — each with their own unique daydream scenarios and personality dynamics.

Originally released digitally in Japan in November 2017, Senran Kagura: Reflexions received a worldwide physical Nintendo Switch release in September 2018, published by XSEED Games in North America and Marvelous Europe in PAL regions. It is explicitly designed for existing fans of the Senran Kagura cast rather than as a series entry point — reviewers consistently noted that the game's value is almost entirely dependent on the player's existing attachment to the characters. As a physical Switch release from XSEED, Reflexions has become increasingly difficult to find at retail and commands a modest collector's premium among fans of the franchise.
