Efera & Jiliora: The Emblem from Darkness is a top-down action RPG released for the PC Engine CD-ROM² in 1991, based on the fantasy anime OVA Gude Crest. The story follows two female mercenaries, the magic-wielding Efera and the physically powerful Jiliora, who escape a slave ship and obtain a mysterious, powerful crest. Tasked with rescuing a kidnapped prince and princess from an evil cult, players can choose to control either heroine individually or team up in a two-player simultaneous mode. The gameplay blends exploration and real-time combat, where characters level up and acquire specialized items, such as magical rings for Jiliora or new spells for Efera; to defeat monstrous enemies and cult worshippers.
