In a world where humanity has been driven from the land by massive, armored insects, the last survivors reside in floating cities in the sky. To combat these "Devil Beetles," specialized mages known as Sky Wizards are trained to take to the air. Enter Kanata Age, a young man once hailed as the "Black Master Swordsman" and the elite ace of the special team S128. However, after a mysterious incident led to him being branded as a traitor, Kanata is relegated to a task no one else wants: training the E601 instructors—a team of three girls who haven't won a single battle.
Misora Whitale, Lecty Eisenach, and Rico Flamel are as talented as they are dysfunctional, each burdened by their own insecurities and quirks. If Kanata can’t whip this "failure unit" into shape, they’ll be expelled from the academy and humanity's front line will lose three more mages.
