Sol Bianca - PC Engine Super CD-ROM²

Sol Bianca for the PC Engine CD-ROM² is a Japan-exclusive RPG developed by Masaya and published by NCS, based on the 1990 anime OVA of the same name. Set in the 24th century, the story follows five young women — Feb, April, June, Jani, and Mayo — the crew of the pirate spaceship Sol Bianca. Despite being space pirates, the crew are anything but villainous: when tyrants and warlords threaten the planets they encounter, Sol Bianca's crew inevitably gets involved, lending their firepower and skills to those who need it most.

The game is a traditional Japanese-style RPG, with all five crew members available as a party from the very start — an unusual design choice that sets it apart from RPGs that begin with a lone protagonist. Each character has individual statistics and fills a distinct role in combat. The story is told across seven episodes with voiced cutscenes and semi-animated sequences, taking full advantage of the PC Engine's CD format. The CD audio soundtrack shifts between a driving rock opening theme and a more J-pop style as the adventure unfolds.

Released in Japan on June 29, 1990, Sol Bianca was developed exclusively for the Japanese market and was never localized into English. The Sol Bianca anime franchise later received a revival OVA series in 1999, but the PC Engine game remains the only video game entry in the series. This is a Japan-import disc. The PC Engine CD-ROM² is region-locked and will only play on a Japanese PC Engine with a CD-ROM² interface unit, or a PC Engine Duo system. All text and dialogue are in Japanese.
