In a distant future ruled by mechanized elites, young Tetsuro Hoshino dreams of reaching Planet Andromeda, where anyone can receive a machine body and escape the suffering of mortality. After his mother is killed by a mechanized noble, Tetsuro is saved by the mysterious Maetel, who offers him a ticket aboard the legendary Galaxy Express 999.
