Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic for the Nintendo Switch is the legendary BioWare RPG — widely considered one of the greatest Star Wars stories ever told and one of the finest RPGs ever made — now playable in handheld form. Set 4,000 years before the Galactic Empire, the Sith Lord Darth Malak has unleashed his fleet against the Republic and hundreds of Jedi have fallen. Players create and customize their own character, wake up on a crumbling warship, and gradually discover a story built on one of gaming's most celebrated plot twists.
Over the course of the game, players recruit nine unique companions — including the sardonic assassin droid HK-47, the Wookiee warrior Zaalbar, and the Jedi Bastila Shan — and travel the galaxy aboard the Ebon Hawk across eight fully realized worlds including Tatooine, Kashyyyk, Manaan, and Korriban. The D&D-inspired turn-based combat resolves automatically while players issue commands, and the morality system tracks every decision — going full dark side or light side changes both the story and your character's appearance.
Over 40 Force powers, multiple character classes, and a branching narrative with meaningful choices give the game enormous replay value. The Switch version runs smoothly in both docked and handheld modes, making it an ideal way to experience a 40+ hour RPG on the go.
