The definitive art collection celebrating Square Enix's acclaimed Nintendo 3DS role-playing game, The Art of Bravely Default offers a breathtaking, comprehensive look into the lush world of Luxendarc. Brought to life by legendary character designer and concept artist Akihiko Yoshida alongside a talented team of artists, this volume compiles full-color key art, intricate character portraits, environmental concept sketches, and promotional illustrations. Highlighting Yoshida's signature painterly style, delicate linework, and fairytale-inspired aesthetic, the book brings beloved characters like Tiz, Agnès, Ringabel, and Edea to life in spectacular detail, making it a masterpiece for RPG enthusiasts and art lovers alike.
Beyond its striking cover-to-cover imagery, this visual repository serves as an extensive behind-the-scenes look at the game's production design. It features detailed costume breakdowns, job class designs, enemy and boss concept art, weapons and airship schematics, and early town background paintings. What makes this art book particularly special to collectors is its inclusion of unused designs, rough sketches, and insightful creator commentary, offering a rare look into the artistic evolution of one of the modern era's most beloved classic-style JRPGs.
Whether exploring the Japanese original or the official English localized hardcover release, this volume remains one of the most sought-after art books in the modern Square Enix library. It stands as an indispensable centerpiece for fans and collectors building a comprehensive Japanese RPG art collection.
