A two-minute countdown, a skatepark, and a list of objectives. That was the framework Tony Hawk's Pro Skater introduced in 1999, and it landed hard enough to define an entire genre. Each level drops you into a real-world skating location — a warehouse, a school, a mall, a downhill street course, a skatepark in Minneapolis — and gives you a short window to collect S-K-A-T-E letters, find hidden tapes, hit score thresholds, and complete specific tricks. You string together grinds, grabs, flips, and manuals to build combos and keep your score multiplier climbing, banking points until the clock runs out.
The roster includes ten professional skaters — Tony Hawk, Bob Burnquist, Steve Caballero, Kareem Campbell, Rune Glifberg, Bam Margera, Chad Muska, Andrew Reynolds, Geoff Rowley, and Elissa Steamer — each with their own stat builds and signature tricks. Career mode follows a tournament circuit across the United States. Between runs you also have Single Session for score chasing, Free Skate for open practice, and multiplayer modes including Trick Attack, Graffiti, and HORSE.
The N64 version was ported by Edge of Reality and released in North America on March 15, 2000 — about six months after the original PlayStation release. It retains all levels, skaters, and modes from the PS1 version. The cartridge format required trimming the soundtrack and removing voice acting, and the blood effects were cut to earn an E rating. Original developer is Neversoft, published by Activision.
Nintendo 64 cartridges are region-locked. This is a North American copy and will play on North American N64 systems only.
