Transformers: War of Cybertron - Playstation 3

Transformers: War for Cybertron for the PlayStation 3 is a third-person shooter developed by High Moon Studios that tells the untold story of the Cybertronian civil war before the Transformers arrived on Earth. Two separate campaigns let players experience the conflict from both sides. The Decepticon campaign opens first, following Megatron as he seizes control of a devastating energy source called Dark Energon and begins his campaign to dominate Cybertron. The Autobot campaign follows Optimus Prime and the resistance as they fight to survive, defend their planet, and eventually plan their escape from a world falling to darkness.

Players choose from three characters at the start of each chapter and can switch between them, each carrying a unique set of abilities and a starting weapon. Two primary weapons are carried at a time, with arms reconfiguring into the selected gun. At any point players can transform into their vehicle mode, switching between a hovering alt mode for speed and cover and the robot form for combat. The transformation is fully functional in combat rather than cosmetic, with jets providing aerial fire support and tanks unleashing heavy ordnance from behind cover. Three-player online co-op lets friends tackle the full campaign together. A competitive multiplayer suite takes heavy inspiration from Call of Duty's progression system, with XP unlocks and killstreak bonuses. The Escalation wave-based co-op mode supports four players.

Developed by High Moon Studios and published by Activision, War for Cybertron released on June 22, 2010. It was followed by the direct sequel Fall of Cybertron in 2012.
