Wife Quest for the PlayStation 4 is a retro-styled side-scrolling beat-'em-up developed by JanduSoft and published by EastAsiaSoft. Fernando's wife Mia has been kidnapped by a demon lord and a horde of monstrous creatures, and Fernando — a determined if unremarkable man — sets out to find her. The game leans into a comedic premise where every enemy encountered along the way seems to share a particular fascination with Mia, and Fernando must fight his way through them all across a series of progressively more chaotic stages.
Combat is a straightforward brawler with punches, kicks, jump attacks, and a screen-clearing special move. Fernando collects coins from defeated enemies to spend on health and continues between stages. The pixel art style and simple mechanics are deliberately evocative of early 1990s arcade beat-'em-ups, and the game is designed for short play sessions rather than extended campaigns.
This is the EastAsiaSoft Play Exclusives physical release for PS4, published in 2021. It includes the game disc and a collectible mini art card.
