WitchSpring3 Re:Fine: The Story of Eirudy is a role-playing game for the Nintendo Switch developed and originally published by G Choice, with the Switch version brought west by ININ Games in August 2021. The Re:Fine edition enhances the original mobile release with upgraded graphics, voice acting from well-known Japanese voice actors, and new events. The game stands entirely on its own and does not require familiarity with earlier entries in the WitchSpring series.
Eirudy is a Marionette Witch who lives alone in the Misty Forest on the continent of Derkarr, a place where witches and humans regard each other with mutual fear. Her companions are the puppets she has brought to life by absorbing vitality from the creatures she encounters. A chance meeting with Adrian, a young nobleman searching for a way to wake his comatose mother, draws Eirudy out of isolation and into a story that reaches further than either of them expects, touching the fate of the continent's gods and humans alike.
Combat is turn-based, built around a customizable magic system and the puppet companions Eirudy accumulates over the course of the game. Defeating monsters feeds her soul stone, which powers the life she gives her dolls and grows her options in battle. A crafting system, respawning enemies, and choices about when to engage and when to retreat in more dangerous areas give the exploration a rhythm of preparation and advancement. The story branches based on decisions made throughout, leading to different outcomes.
Nintendo Switch games are region-free and will play on any Switch worldwide.
