Yoshiki Tonogai - Doubt Manga

In Tokyo, a group of teenagers meet up after bonding online over a popular cell phone game called “Rabbit Doubt,” where players must expose a hidden traitor known as the Wolf. The game is harmless fun—until the group is drugged, abducted, and awakens inside an abandoned building outfitted with cages, traps, and countless lies.

Branded with barcodes and forced to play a real-life version of Doubt, the rules are simple:
Find the Wolf among them… or die.

As fear spreads and paranoia takes hold, alliances crumble, friendships crack, and trust becomes impossible. Each death peels back another layer of the sinister plot, revealing twisted motives and a mastermind manipulating every emotional fracture. The deeper the survivors dig into the truth, the more they uncover about each other—and themselves.

Doubt blends psychological horror, murder-mystery tension, claustrophobic survival elements, and shocking plot twists, becoming a hallmark title in the “death game” subgenre.

Story Origin: Tonogai developed Doubt after working as an assistant on Higurashi: When They Cry manga adaptations, where he learned the structure of closed-circle mysteries and unreliable characters—direct inspirations for the “Wolf Game” format.

Creative Continuity: Doubt later connects to Tonogai’s extended universe, tying into Judge and Secret, all built from the same conceptual foundation of moral guilt and psychological tension.
