Released in 1990 for the PC Engine, Zipang is a thematic conversion of Tecmo’s Solomon’s Key developed by Arc System Works and published by Pack-In-Video. Rebranding the original puzzle-action mechanics to match the 1990 fantasy film Zipang, the game follows the samurai Jigoku Gokurakumaru as he navigates single-screen stages to reach a mythical "City of Gold." As a single-player experience, it tasks players with using a magical sword to create or destroy blocks, forming platforms and traps to bypass enemies and secure the key required to unlock each level's exit.
